A Word From Anne

What is it about pastel colors?

They're so simple and restrained, but they're filled with power.

It's not that "rev you up," high octane power of primary colors. Instead, it's gentle...which makes it all the more potent.

Pastels walk quietly into your consciousness, calmly overruling stress by redirecting energy and emotions toward rest and relaxation. That's their superpower.

I called this colorful watercolor Tranquility to celebrate that fact and offer a way out of stress and into pleasant vistas of sunset beauty and calm.

It's an unusual type of landscape or seascape painting: the pastel colors are so subtle, they blend and blur the boundaries so the horizon line could be anywhere. Perhaps it's above the blue at the bottom, making this a seascape, with the pink indicating the sky where dawn is about to break over the water.

Or it may be above the pink, with the yellow tones at the top showing sunlight later in the day.

Either way, it's a soothing, tranquil watercolor that can bring you peacefulness and  comfort. Treat yourself now to this visual spa treatment.
