A Word From Anne

This colorful watercolor has a playful quality, combining blue and red in a dynamic abstract landscape (or could it be a seascape, with strange red water surging up toward the sky)?

Round red shapes bubble about in the lower half.

At the top left is a large red area, like the Sun in a late afternoon sky, looking out over the blue of the sky and that round-ish red expanse you can see as either a landscape or a fully alive sea.

How fun!

It's as if the earth has turned into a nature carnival: anything could happen, as the bright shapes seem to move around.

What if those red round parts turned into cherry lollipops? Or big gumballs? What if the big round magenta "Sun" at the top suddenly turned into the Big Top, and you find yourself standing in a tent, ready for an exciting circus show to start?

That's exactly why I called this painting Whimsy.

We all need to give ourselves up to life's daydreaming moments. Just whimsical pondering and "what if?"

Bring a bit of that spirit into your life. Let this painting help you think in new ways, whether at your home or office. (And save me a seat in the Big Top!)
