Restoring Harmony: How Can I Be Of Greater Service?

After the revelations of my last blog post, with all the news about how much has changed for me this past year, I wanted to update you on how these changes are starting to play out in my world and my work.

Time To Change: A Chance To Refocus

The biggest news I have to share is that it’s become obvious to me that it’s time to refocus my work and my business.

As I shared in my last post, the winds of change are blowing strongly in our era, and they’re affecting all of us.

In my case, I’ve been feeling the power of Jupiter in Virgo in my health for more than a year. And now that energy is calling me to be of greater service. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, and Virgo is concerned not only with health and daily routine but with our jobs and how we help and serve, especially in practical ways.

Bringing My Personal Astrology Forward

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you know that astrology is a major focus of my life and work. It’s a key aspect of how I think and how I see the world. And it’s a big part of how I help others.

What’s coming through in my spiritual reflections and meditations is a strong call to bring more of my personal astrology forward, in order to help others.

About Libra

As I mentioned in my last post, my zodiac sign is Libra. It’s a cardinal sign, so it likes to be in charge (although it’s not pushy about that–Libra tends to be diplomatic). I’ve been self-employed since 1993, running my business, ANB Communications, which is the parent company for the annenordhausbike.com website.

Libra also is an air sign. Like the other air signs—Gemini and Aquarius—Libra has a talent for communication and tends to focus on the mental realm. Air signs generally are full of ideas, curious about other people, and happy socializing—all of which are true in my own life.

Also, much of my work throughout my career has focused on communication: writing, public speaking, training design and delivery, media appearances on radio, consulting. I really love meeting and talking to people–and it’s a real joy to me to be able to help others by sharing my gifts. And it’s always a special experience to talk to listeners who call in when I’m on WGN Radio here in Chicago.

Libra also spends a lot of time thinking about relationships, especially partnerships, because it’s the sign associated with marriage as well as business partnerships. I’ve been married since 1986 to a wonderful man named Bill, and we balance well (Libra LOVES balance–its symbol is the Scales!) because he’s my opposite: an Aries born in early April.

Libra Loves Harmony, Too

Besides balance, Libra loves harmony and diplomacy because it’s ruled by beautiful, loving Venus. It’s a highly idealistic sign that wants the world to enjoy perfect harmony–not by people all becoming the same, but by all kinds of people coming together to complement each other’s strengths and bask in each other’s wonderfulness.

With Venus so important for Libras, this sign also has a real devotion to the arts and beauty of all kinds. Besides being an astrologer, I’ve been an artist all my life. And in the past several years, my love of astrology–and my mystical and spiritual side–have come out strongly in my paintings as well as my photography and videos.

What You May Not Know About Me

What you may not know about me is that I have decades of business and corporate experience. I started my career in the business world, working for leading companies including Moore Corp. and Ameritech. Later, I worked with a top consulting firm as a communication and training consultant, helping dozens of Fortune 500 companies design and deliver innovative solutions to support their business goals.

In 1993, I started my own firm, ANB Communications, to provide marketing communication solutions to major companies. Along the way, I helped Fortune 500 firms such as Philips Medical Systems and Accenture as well as leading organizations in the health care, high tech, higher education, publishing, and not-for-profit industries.

Thanks to all this experience, I discovered over the years that I have a talent for technology. I was raised with fairly “geeky” parents–my father was an aerospace engineer, and my mother ran a typesetting business that used top-of-the-line technology starting back in the mid-1970s. Today, I’m still the CTO for ANB Communications: I even handle most of the back end for our website.

Pulling It All Together

Over the years, my dream has been to combine all these different parts of myself somehow.

So THAT’S what I’ve been working on this year. And I’m getting close to having something I can share with you. Something that will help people get along better. That will make the most of their unique strengths so they can come together in greater harmony–and help make the world a better place.

And I’m going to do it in a unique way, with some out-of-the-box techniques. I’ll be blending my business and tech savvy with spiritual smarts to provide a holistic, innovative approach. And I’m even dreaming about ways to bring my art into the picture.
