Join Anne for a special winter solstice workshop this Thursday, January 14, in Chicago. She’ll be the main speaker that evening, which will feature special programming to help visitors enjoy contemplation and quietude at this special time of year.
The workshop will be held at Nefertiti Lodge, 5083 N. Elston Ave., in Chicago.
Capricorn Time Brings Winter, Rebirth Of Light
Every year, on the day the Sun enters Capricorn, the world experiences a solstice. In the northern hemisphere, we have the winter solstice, while the southern hemisphere welcomes the first day of summer.
The two solstices bring us days of extremes, when the Sun’s amount of light is at its symbolic peak (in summer) or its symbolic low point (in winter). For millennia, sages have seen these days as sacred, particularly the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere, because this day of least amount of daylight signals the start of light’s return to the world and symbolizes the rebirth of our inner, spiritual light.
Join Anne January 14 to learn more about the solstice. During this “new year’s look at the solstice,” she’ll explain why not just the solstice itself but the entire month of Capricorn brings important energies, especially to spiritual seekers. She also will share a special winter solstice video and a seasonal meditation.
