On December 25, Jupiter will end its retrograde period for this year, giving us renewed opportunities to enjoy this planet’s joy, benevolence, and optimism.
When a planet goes retrograde, it appears to move backward as seen from Earth, and its energies become less available to us on the material plane. Jupiter’s current retrograde began August 30, so all these months its natural exuberance has been dampened. Also, Jupiter’s gifts of luck, abundance, and good fortune may have seemed elusive.
Working effectively with a planet’s retrograde phase means allowing its energies to operate on the inner plane. In the case of Jupiter, that means expanding our inner selves and increasing our capacity for tolerance, good will, and wisdom. With Jupiter now in Taurus, the past few months have given us opportunities to grow inwardly and gain wisdom (Jupiter) by examining our beliefs (Jupiter) about nature, our values, and the experience of being incarnate (Taurus).
Starting December 25, new opportunities will come our way to express the inner growth we’ve achieved and the wisdom we’ve received during Jupiter’s retrograde. To make the most of these opportunities, it may be helpful to meditate on the dove and its symbolism.
As with all birds, the dove serves as a messenger, bringing intuitive guidance from celestial realms. Long associated with peace and gentleness, doves also symbolize spiritual knowledge and wisdom. By bringing stillness into our lives and cultivating a serene heart, we create the proper conditions for the dove–wisdom–to enter.
When it comes, wisdom feels like a little dove, softly bringing messages from our higher self. Open your heart, and let its gentle voice speak freely…
Wishing you the dove’s wise peace,
